Christine A.
Private tutor in Santa Clarita, CA
Education
I recently graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with two bachelors in English and Psychology. I finished with a weighed GPA of 3.77 in English and a cumulative GPA of 3.4. I am currently working on applications for graduate school to receive a Ph.D in English. My ultimate goal is to become a professor at a university.
Experience
While in school, I worked as a free-lance editor, editing college essays for all subjects. In addition to editing, I also organized and led study sessions for various English and Psychology classes. During my final year, I was hired as a notetaker for my Psychology and English classes based on my organizational skills and my ability to take clear and accurate notes. I finished my last two quarters at UCSB with Dean's Honors.

Hobbies
I have always loved academics and hope to inspire that same passion for learning in everyone I tutor. I am good with kids and often help my younger cousins (ages 7 and 11) with their homework, keeping them on track and teaching them how to solve problems so that they perform well on the homework as well as on exams. Based on my background, I am comfortable tackling anything from elementary to college prep courses (including AP). I believe that every student is an individual and that the tutoring approach must reflect the student's academic needs and specific challenges. I take great pride in my academic and organizational skills and will work hard to make sure that my students succeed. I have a great love for Shakespeare, coffee, travel, and cartoons.
